Keep up with the everyday adventures of Wil, Regina, and Aurora! OK, it's mostly Aurora's adventures, but that's what everyone wants to hear about. :)

Bowl Silliness

February 07, 2010

Aurora loves bowls. She likes to carry them around, put things in them, and make great noises by banging on them with wooden spoons.

But most of all she likes to....

Sit in them!!

So much fun!

Falling over...

And standing up!!

Oh, you never knew the fun you could have with a bowl, did you? :D

Aurora's Idea of Fun

February 03, 2010

Aurora recently discovered two new ways to have fun: gathering and carrying small toys around by sticking them down the front of her shirt and bowl sitting.

Here's where she's first figuring out that there's an inside to her onesie. What a concept!

After a while, Aurora had managed to gather up all of the small toys that easily fit into her shirt and was walking around making a rather funny clinking noise. You should be able to hear it on this video. Now Aurora experiments with larger toys....

We've had to frisk her every time we're leaving the house or another place with toys (like the church nursery) because more often than not, she has some random small toy hidden inside her shirt. The silly girl has tried to make off with a number of little people toys from various church nurseries. :)

And second new skill: bowl sitting. Earlier in the day she had a much better aim, but it's still funny to watch her

Apparently putting toys into the bowl first helps her aim her sitting better...

Our little turkey has also learned to stand up on her rocking horse (that didn't take long--only one week of having it!) and how to climb from her chair up to the window sill. She's certainly keeping us busy!

Snow!!

January 29, 2010

This afternoon when Aurora woke up from her nap, she discovered that it was snowing quite hard outside!

She and mommy got bundled up and called Uncle Kyle to ask him to come play with them.

Aurora wasn't too sure that she liked the snow.

It was very cold and wet. Especially cold. And wet.

But Uncle Kyle thought up a solution!

Aurora loved riding on his shoulders while mommy threw snowballs at them.

Back inside (in the college's main lobby, not our house)--look at that red nose! :)

Now for the videos!

Checking out the snow...

Riding on Uncle Kyle's shoulders!

That's all for now!

Happy 1st Birthday Aurora!!

January 25, 2010

Aurora is ONE!! To celebrate, we're going to have a nice long post with pictures and videos. Let's start off with some of her at this time last year....

Very unhappy about this whole being born thing...

(For those who are curious, the camera marked this picture as being taken at 5:24am. Her "official" time of birth, which is more of a guess by my husband, is 5:21am. So she's only minutes old in this photo.)

More unhappiness about her bathtime...thankfully she likes them better now. :)

Much calmer while getting checked out by the midwife's assistant.

NOW....

Aurora is a big girl who gets into all sorts of things...

She had a little bit of a hard time figuring out that she was allowed to rip the wrapping paper...

Trying out the rocking horse from her cousins...

A video of Aurora opening one of her presents...

Now on to the main event: birthday cake!!!

Singing "Happy Birthday" to Aurora--the simple song that for some reason no group can ever get quite on tune...:)

She never did blow the candle out, my mom did it for her. :)

A nice long video of Aurora tasting the cake. :)

Messy...

Messier....

Messiest!

Later...all clean and playing with the doll I made for her. :)

And finally....12 months of Aurora!
Click on the image below to see it nice and huge! :)
